Emcon Services Inc. is a proud Canadian-based company with over 30 years of success as an interprovincial Road and Bridge Maintenance Contractor. We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Superintendent to join our Ontario operations working out of Mississauga Head Office.

Reporting to the Corporate Equipment Manager, the Senior Mechanical Superintendent is responsible for:
- Managing and supporting Mechanical Superintendents across Ontario
- Assisting with repair and replacement decisions for existing equipment
- Supporting the distribution of equipment to maximize utilization and lifespan
- Assisting with staffing requirements, recruitment, training, and retention
- Providing oversight and support to apprentices and apprenticeship programs
- Assisting with the development and implementation of policies, processes, and procedures
- Supporting supply chain relationships and agreements
- Producing and managing mechanical budgets
- Leading, mentoring, and supporting mechanical leadership and trades staff
- Supporting field operations to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and within budget
- Championing a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with OHSA
- Overseeing and maintaining effective Preventative Maintenance Programs
- Promoting cost effectiveness and collaboration across teams
- Establishing clear expectations related to performance, quality, and timelines
- Ensuring accurate records, documentation, and communication are maintained
- Traveling to sites as required
- Other duties as assigned
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven management experience (preference given to candidates with more than 5 years)
- Post-secondary education in a related mechanical field; 310T or Red Seal certification preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong technical and mechanical knowledge
- Computer literacy and experience with computerized maintenance systems
- Understanding of Provincial Commercial Regulatory requirements
- Clear knowledge of Ontario Health & Safety legislation
- A valid Ontario Driver’s License and a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract
- Previous experience working in a union environment considered an asset
This position involves a combination of office work, travel between sites, and working outdoors in all seasonal conditions.
This is a non-union, salaried, management position.
