About Island Gold District: Alamos Gold’s Island Gold District will become one of the largest and lowest-cost gold mines in Canada. Purpose
The Maintenance Planner role focuses on maximizing workforce productivity, safety, and efficiency through proactive planning and coordination of all maintenance activities.
Safety And Sustainability Expectations
- Develop and maintain accurate weekly maintenance schedules for all mobile and fixed equipment.
- Incorporate safety procedures (e.g., lock-out/tag-out) into all job plans.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and regulatory requirements.
- Promote a proactive safety culture.
Planning and Scheduling
- Lead daily and weekly planning meetings with maintenance, operations, and support teams.
- Develop and manage shutdown and outage schedules.
- Maintain preventive maintenance programs for critical equipment.
- Audit major job plans to confirm material and resource readiness.
- Collect engineering documentation and technical specifications.
Execution, Tracking & Reporting
- Monitor labor performance against work orders.
- Manage post-maintenance documentation in CMMS/EAM systems.
- Track inspections and certifications for regulated equipment.
- Maintain vehicle registration and insurance records.
- Generate KPIs and performance reports for leadership.
- Develop and update maintenance standards and procedures
Reliability and Continuous Improvement
- Support outage planning, risk assessment, and post-review activities.
- Collaborate on proactive maintenance and reliability initiatives.
- Advise management on maintenance strategies and objectives.
Leadership and Coordination
- Mentor junior planners and provide coverage as needed.
- Communicate work scope and expectations to contractors.
- Ensure timely, high-quality service to internal customers.
- Strong communication and coaching skills.
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Professionalism and accountability.
Technical Competence, Skils And Experience Required
- High School Diploma (required)
- Technical training and Six Sigma Green Belt (asset)
- Minimum 5 years in skilled trades, preferably mining or heavy industry
- Mechanical/electrical aptitude
- Maintenance planning experience
- Supervisory experience required
- Proficient in technical research and interpretation of manuals and drawings.
- Strong communication, cost analysis, and reporting skills.
- Advanced computer proficiency:
- CMMS/EAM systems
- MS Office
- Project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, SAP)
This is a site based role at Alamos Gold, Island Gold District. The job is offered on a 4 day on 3 day off rotation.
